Since 2019, Wal-Mart has closed six major stores in China, withdrawing from five cities - Qingdao, Haining, Lishui, Weifang and Zhenjiang. Wal-Mart withdrew from four cities in China in 2018: Wuhu, Tangshan, Shaoxing and Harbin. Wal-Mart's frequent closures, and even its retreat, are not a day-to-day event. Since 2016, Wal-Mart has basically begun to close a large number of stores in China. Thirteen were closed in 2016, 24 in 2017 and 21 in 2018.
