Shanghai: 2024 China International Import Expo (CIIE)

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States, and it is also the 42nd year that the U.S. soybean industry has worked hand in hand with Chinese industry partners. Agricultural product trade is like the "ballast stone" of a large ocean-going ship, which has played a stabilizing role in Sino-U.S. relations. This year, the U.S. Soybean Export Association will once again take the lead in organizing a U.S. agricultural trade delegation to the CIIE, and will work with the U.S. Grains Association and the China Chamber of Commerce of Food, Native Produce and Animal Products to jointly host the "China-U.S. Agricultural  Trade Cooperation Forum" during the CIIE on November 6, 2024.

More than 10 major agricultural product associations, including the U.S. Soybean Export Association, the U.S. Grains Association, the U.S. Wheat Association, the U.S. Dairy Export Association, and the U.S. Poultry and Egg Export Association, leaders of relevant departments of the Chinese and U.S. governments, heads of Chinese agricultural trade industry associations and enterprises, as well as experts and scholars on agricultural product trade between China and the United States will attend the forum to discuss the issues of agricultural trade cooperation between the two countries and seek the well-being of the industries and people of the two countries.

In today's world, facing many challenges such as climate change, weak global economic recovery, ongoing regional conflicts and occasional supply chain disruptions, this forum will discuss and exchange views on a series of important topics, including strengthening agricultural trade relations between China and the United States, further leveraging the "ballast stone" role of agricultural trade in bilateral relations, injecting more vitality and certainty into global food security and economic development, and jointly promoting global sustainable development goals. The "China-US Agricultural Trade Cooperation Forum" is committed to promoting open communication and win-win cooperation between China and the United States, so that the cooperation in the agricultural trade field between the two countries can gain a broader development space.
