According to CNBC and Reuters on November 6th, some American companies are launching plans to protect their businesses from the impact of high tariffs. US President elect Donald Trump has promised to impose new high tariffs on a large number of goods from major trading partners of the United States.
Trump has repeatedly stated plans to impose comprehensive tariffs of 10% or 20% on every imported item entering the United States, and impose tariffs of over 60% on all Chinese imports. Trump also threatened to impose a 25% tariff on all products imported from Mexico.
CNBC reports that retailers and manufacturing companies have been taking swift action in recent days to require "pre loading" of goods and shipping imported products to the United States before the implementation of new tariffs.
