China's General Administration of Customs has approved three new Thai chicken export factories, bringing the total number of certified and registered factories in Thailand to 26.
According to a news release on Monday, the approval reflects China's trust in Thailand's poultry production and processing standards, which comply with global international regulations such as GHP and HACCP.
The certification process includes rigorous inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the protocol between the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Chinese Customs.
In 2023, Thailand exported 16.9 billion baht worth of frozen poultry products to China. This trend continued into 2024, with exports exceeding 8 billion baht in the first half of the year. The department expects the total value of frozen poultry exports from Thailand to China to exceed 18 billion baht in 2024.
