China International Import Expo: Russian companies increase participation by half

The China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai from November 5th to 11th, and the Russian National Pavilion established by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade became one of the centers that attracted visitors.

Vitaly Mankevich, President of the Federation of Asian Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Russia, told Sputnik News Agency that the number of Russian companies participating in the 2024 China International Import Expo (CIIE) has increased by half compared to last year.

Mankevich said, "Last year, 67 companies participated in the exhibition, and this year there are 97, which is almost half the increase. Compared with the 2022 CIIE, the number of Russian participating companies has doubled. This shows that Russian exporters are very interested in the Chinese market.

He pointed out that the Russian enterprises participating in the CIIE are mainly agricultural and industrial enterprises.

Mankevich said, "Agricultural trade is one of the growth points of Russia China trade. Last year, the trade volume of food between Russia and China increased by 33.9%, reaching 11.1 billion US dollars. This year, due to the launch of new projects and the signing of new contracts, we expect the indicators to continue to increase

The Russian Commercial Representative Office in China pointed out that on November 5th, Alexei Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, and Alexei Dahnovsky, Russian Commercial Representative in China, introduced the products displayed at the Russian National Pavilion to Xiong Jijun, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, and Liang Huiling, Governor of Heilongjiang Province, and provided detailed information on the bilateral economic and trade relations and improvement directions.
The announcement added, "Since the establishment of the Import Expo seven years ago, Russia has set a new record this year. Exhibition visitors actively learned about products from more than 100 companies from 38 regions of Russia, of which 70 showcased agricultural and industrial products
