The new batch of imported Sunshine Rose grapes in Thailand has passed the quarantine results. The Thai Food and Drug Administration pointed out that the recently intercepted imported Sunshine Rose grapes meet all the standards, and hopes that consumers can rest assured. The Food and Drug Administration has taken temporary quarantine release measures, collecting samples for pesticide residue analysis before releasing imported fruits and vegetables, and knowing the results within 24 hours. If they are not qualified, they are strictly prohibited from being sold domestically.
Deputy Secretary General of the Food and Drug Administration, Ratchay, revealed that the Food and Drug Inspection Station of the Food and Drug Administration intercepted 6932.4 kilograms of Sunshine Rose grapes on the 5th, with a total import value of 3053616.47 baht, and collected samples for analysis of agricultural toxic residues. The quarantine results met all requirements, so the Food and Drug Administration allowed them to be sold in Thailand.
The Food and Drug Administration strictly controls data from both domestic and international sources to ensure that consumers receive food that meets quality and safety standards. For imported fruits, the Food and Drug Administration has strict inspection measures and adopts monitoring measures to quarantine imported fruits and vegetables (temporary quarantine release). Samples are collected and sent to ISO 17025 laboratories for testing for the presence of agricultural toxic residues within 24 hours. If the safety value is exceeded, the import will be immediately prohibited and prosecuted, and cooperation will be required to prevent the import of non-standard products. In addition, coordination will be carried out with embassies of trading partner countries to ensure that imported goods are as safe as possible.
Laichai also said that the Food and Drug Administration's food and drug inspection station will increase random sampling of fruits and vegetables and send them to laboratories for agricultural toxic residue testing to strengthen consumer protection and provide consumers with safer food. However, consumers still need to pay attention to cleaning before consuming fruits and vegetables.
