From 'vegetables' going global to' factories' going global

Data shows that in 2023, the total output value of Guangdong's agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery reached 0.92 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

With the increase in agricultural production and the upgrading of consumption, both supply and demand sides have exerted their strength. Primary agricultural products can no longer meet the needs of the public. Agricultural deep-processing products represented by pre-made dishes are gaining momentum and becoming a new direction for the transformation of traditional agriculture. At the same time, this also means a longer shelf life and transportation radius, and the trend of pre-dish dishes going overseas is gradually rising.

Last year, the export value of pre-made dishes in Guangdong reached 31.7 billion yuan, accounting for about one-fifth of the national total. With the upgrade of agricultural product exports to pre-prepared meal exports, at a deeper level, the food culture it carries has also spread overseas, bringing new challenges to companies going overseas, and companies have increased their investment in brand cultivation and cross-border cooperation in the supply chain.
